Caribbean Community Relief

Support Our Hurricane Melissa Caribbean-Led Response

Trusted Leadership. Locally Rooted. Regionally Coordinated. Systems-Focused.

The Crisis

Hurricane Melissa has struck the Caribbean with devastating force, creating urgent humanitarian needs across multiple nations. Each country carries distinct burdens shaped by geography, existing infrastructure, and social conditions, yet together the Caribbean faces a regional humanitarian emergency requiring coordinated, sustained response.

Jamaica has borne the heaviest impact, with coastal towns submerged, thousands of families displaced, and critical infrastructure severely damaged.

Haiti is facing compounded challenges as communities already vulnerable from recent instability confront flooding and loss of agricultural land.

The Dominican Republic has experienced significant damage to homes and power systems, particularly in border regions.

Cuba is managing widespread infrastructure damage and displacement in eastern provinces.

The Bahamas has sustained severe impact to outer islands, with homes destroyed and communities cut off from essential services.

Our hearts are with them, and they now need your support.

Who We Are

Caribbean Philanthropic Alliance (CariPhil) is a philanthropic serving organization and is the only regional philanthropic network designed to ensure that aid remains rooted in and led by the Caribbean itself. We do not deliver relief directly. Instead, we serve as regional infrastructure that channels resources through our trusted network of local foundations and community-rooted organizations across all affected islands.

As a trusted navigator, we are on the ground coordinating through our trusted local partners and funds will support communities in Jamaica and across the Caribbean affected by natural disasters and humanitarian disasters.

Also through CLASP (Climate Philanthropy & Strategic Partnerships) and the Caribbean Climate Funders Commitment (CCFC), CariPhil is uniting funders and multi-sector stakeholders to commit to climate action and drive innovative solutions for a resilient Caribbean.

How Your Contribution Can Help

  • Deliver food, water, shelter, and medical care to families facing immediate crisis across Jamaica, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Cuba, and The Bahamas
  • Provide emergency relief for families affected by Hurricane Melissa
  • Support trusted local organizations leading recovery on the ground
  • Strengthen the Caribbean's capacity to respond to future natural disasters and humanitarian crises

Contributions will flow through Caribbean Philanthropic Alliance to our locally-based Trusted Partners leading local response, keeping resources circulating within regional systems. It will enable diaspora giving to function as catalytic capital building permanent regional capacity. It will fund climate-smart rebuilding so recovery transforms vulnerability rather than recreating it.

Every contribution makes a difference.
