The Caribbean faces a unique set of challenges, with climate change posing a significant threat to the region's environment and its people. Women are often disproportionately impacted by these changes, facing greater risks to their livelihoods, health, and safety.
The Caribbean Philanthropic Alliance recognizes the critical role women play in building a more resilient future.
Here's why we focus on empowering women through climate leadership and financial resiliency training:
Women as Leaders: Women are powerful agents of change. By equipping them with the skills and knowledge to advocate for climate action and lead sustainable initiatives, we can create a more resilient future for all.
Financial Vulnerability: Women often have limited access to financial resources and control over household finances. Building their financial literacy and resilience allows them to better manage risks associated with climate change, such as natural disasters and economic shocks.
Household Decision-Makers:
Women play a central role in household decision-making, particularly regarding resource allocation and disaster preparedness. Their knowledge and skills directly impact the well-being of their families and communities.
