Women-Led Climate Philanthropy

Facilitating an ecosystem of philanthropy and leveraging capacity-building resources to empower women to create sustainable livelihoods and enhance their climate resiliency.

Why Empower Women Climate Leaders

The Caribbean faces unique challenges, with climate change posing a significant threat. Women are disproportionately impacted due to longstanding inequities, facing greater risks to their livelihoods, health, and safety. Yet, their vulnerability is their strength, as their unique perspectives, roles, and contributions are indispensable in combating climate change.

Our Commitment

On September 19th, 2023 at Clinton Global Initiative in New York City, the Caribbean Philanthropic Alliance (CariPhilAlliance) committed through Women-Led Climate Philanthropy to leverage a network of philanthropic stakeholders from the Global South and Global North to streamline funding to support civil society organizations and women engaged in climate-gender responsive programmes and climate action. Alliance commits to leverage a combination of financial and capacity building resources upwards of 2 million dollars for women-led climate initiatives by the end of 2025 and globally recognize their contribution to addressing climate change towards sustainability development.
