UNICEF Emergency Appeal – Hurricane Melissa in Jamaica, Haiti, Dominican Republic and Cuba

Francesca Marina Galliano
Email: fgalliano@uniceforg

UNICEF is on the ground in Jamaica, Haiti the Dominican Republic, and Cuba, to support the emergency response to protect children and families affected by the Hurricane.

UNICEF is working jointly with national authorities, other agencies and local partners to act fast and ensure an efficient and effective response.

Donations will help UNICEF:

  • Deliver life-saving treatment and nutrition for young children, ensure pregnant and lactating women have essential supplies, and provide mosquito nets and repellents to prevent disease.
  • Rehabilitate water systems, distribute hygiene and dignity kits, and create safe spaces for displaced children to receive mental health and psychosocial support.
  • Help children have hope and continue learning through emergency education kits.
  • Support families with humanitarian cash transfers so they can meet their most urgent needs.
