CLASP: Forging a Resilient Caribbean through Climate Philanthropy and Strategic Partnerships

CLASP is a transformative effort by the Caribbean Philanthropic Alliance that unites funders and multi-sector stakeholders to commit to climate action and drive innovative solutions for a resilient Caribbean.

CLASP recognizes that climate change affects every part of life in the Caribbean—from health and education to gender, culture, and economy. Despite minimal contributions to global emissions, Caribbean nations bear the brunt of the climate crisis.

Quick Facts

Less than 2% of global philanthropy is dedicated to climate action

Limited funding, capacity, and data hinder effective regional responses

This urgent context catalyzed the creation of CLASP—Climate Philanthropy and Strategic Partnerships—a platform to mobilize funders, share strategies, and foster collective leadership.

CLASP: A Call to Action

CLASP aligns with #PhilanthropyForClimate, a global movement engaging funders in climate leadership. Hosted regionally by the Caribbean Philanthropic Alliance, CLASP brings the Caribbean into global climate philanthropy conversations.

Through the WINGS International Commitment, more than 800 funders from 22+ countries are integrating climate into their missions. CLASP offers Caribbean funders a structured platform to join, whether large foundations, community funds, or individual donors.

Learn about Climate Journey Levels & Seven Pillars of the International Commitment

The Climate Journey Levels and the Seven Pillars of the International Commitment are key components of a structured framework developed to guide foundations and philanthropic organizations in aligning with climate action. Climate levels help funders self-assess and track their progress in implementing the seven pillars. Seven pillars represent the core areas in which philanthropic organizations can embed climate considerations across their work.
